Common Admission Test or CAT is online the entrance exam for the coveted post-graduate program in management / MBA in the Indian Institutes of Management. It is widely accepted by other B schools as well such as FMS-DU, MDI- Gurgaon, JBIMS, SPJIMR, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI, NIT Trichy, and others.
Conducted in the month of November every year, it is taken by over 2 lac aspirants.
CAT EXAM PATTERN- (based on recent years)
Test sessions/Slots – 3 (Morning, Afternoon and Evening)
Total questions -66
Section 1- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension- 24 questions approx
Section 2- DI & Analytical Reasoning – 20 questions approx
Section 3- Quantitative Aptitude -22 questions approx
All questions have equal weight.
Cat has multiple choice questions (MCQs) and fill in the blanks type TITA questions.
Cat provides an onscreen basic calculator for usage.
The time allotted in CAT 2022 was 2 hrs and 40min for each section.
One cannot skip in between sections and the sections are ordered fixed.
CAT Eligibility:- 50% marks in graduation for unreserved category.
CAT 2022 will be held on 27th November, in two slots morning & afternoon. CAT exam scoring patterns will be +3 marks for each correct answer & -1 marks for each wrong answer for MCQs only, no negative marking for Non MCQ question.
