Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
The CMAT is a three-hour computer-based online test that is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.
This test facilitates Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission to all Management programs.
The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam
- Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for the academic year 2020-21 can also apply for CMAT online exam.
Test Pattern for CMAT

The duration of the test is 180 minutes (3 hours).
There shall be negative marking for wrong answers, for each wrong answer 1 mark shall be deducted.
The exam date of the CMAT exam may be from 3 Weeks of April 2023, from 9:30 – 12:30.
Items should be carried while going to the exam center:-
- Admit Card on an A4 size paper.
- One Passport size photograph (same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) is to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Center.
- A valid Photo ORIGINAL ID proof (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E- Aadhaar/Ration Card/ Bank Passbook with Photograph).
- Please note that ID Cards, AADHAR enrollment receipts without Aadhaar numbers and photocopies OR any images stored on mobile phones, etc will NOT be accepted in the exam center.
- No Candidate would be allowed to enter the Examination Center, without identity verification.
- PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under the PwD category.
